Summer Happenings

So, it has been a while... I know! A lot has happened since the last time I posted, so I will just show you guys in pictures instead of writing about every detail.

My friend Macy had her baby, Meg. She is healthy and beautiful!

We went to Edmond, my hometown, on the 4th. My brother, mom, dad, and husband decided to create a plaid shorts club!

Me and my sis. We went and grilled out in the Target parking lot and watched the city fireworks show. I know it sounds wierd, but hundreds of people do it.

Later on that night still in the Target parking lot. These are our younger cousins...Giles, Lydia, and Grant!

Last week Chad painted the nursery.

The job completed. Now we just need to get some furniture, decorations, and a baby in there!

This is me 31 weeks pregnant right before we walked out the door for our first childbirthing class. Wow, was that an experience! Does it look like I will make it 2 more months?

Last weekend we went to San Antonio to visit cousins on the Lawson side of the family. We had a lot of fun playing games and hanging out in their GREAT backyard. Mexican Train anyone?

We also found time to fit in a pedicure (because Lord knows I can't reach my toenails right now!)

Baby Update: Cohen was measuring 3 1/2 weeks big at the last appointment. But everything else looks good. I won't say how much weight I've gained (because it's super embarressing) but let's just say I'm going to have to get on the diet wagon here in about 2 months if I'm going to fit in those skinny clothes again!

Babymoon!!

We just got back from the Virginia/D.C. area late Sunday night. We went to a missions conference in Hampton, VA on Mon-Thurs and then stayed in D.C. Fri-Sun. The conference was very good (or as good as a conference can be) and it was nice to be away with just the two of us for a whole week, we're calling this our babymoon. Chad had never been to D.C. and he LOVES history and museums, so this was the perfect little get away for him! We walked miles and miles and I didn't go into labor, so I guess that's a good sign. Here are pictures from the trip...

On the drive between Hampton and D.C. we stopped in Jamestown and saw all the historic colonial area.

Capitol building and me in the middle of one of our long walks.

The Hope Diamond at the Smithsonian.

Chad...he's holding up the Washington Monument! Nice camera angle, huh?

We drove down to Virginia Beach on Tuesday night.

This picture is from my friend Kristin's wedding, the night before we left for D.C., with some of my college friends.

BABY UPDATE: We went to our 29 week appt. on Monday. Everything looks good. We got our 3-D sonogram and everything looks good... he is still DEFINITELY a boy. He is 3 lbs, 2 oz right now and is still measuring big. This last sonogram put his due date at Aug. 30th. But as we all know this is just a date, and I'm trying not to get my mind set on any certain date so that when it hits Sept 10th and I'm still pregnant, I won't be as miserable!

27 week update

So, I had another Dr. appt. today, and now I am measuring 3 WEEKS big!! He is not too concerned, but wants to do another sonogram at the next appt just to make sure everything is ok. Which is fine with me! Any gander I can get at this cute little thing is always exciting! This time it will be a 3-D! Sorry, no pics this week. But Chad and I are leaving for Washington DC on Monday and will post pics from that when we get back.

Ahhhh...vacation!! Just what the dr. ordered!

We just spent the past week in Destin with my family. It was SO relaxing and a nice break from work and stress! I didn't check my email all week.... it was GREAT!! We're a big seafood family, so that is one of our favorite things about beach vactions... the fresh seafood!

Here are some pics from the week.

Me and Chandy on the balcony of our condo... I'm 25 weeks in this pic.

My mom, me and Chad after finishing our sand castle....

This is my brother and his girlfriend, Kim.....

Me and Chaney chowing down on a steamed bowl of crab, oysters, shrimp, and crawfish...mmmm!!

One big, happy family!!

Chad and I had a private balcony from our bedroom... it faced out to the resort's golf course. He liked to sit out there and read and watch the golfers tee off...

Has it already been 3 years!?!?!

Last night Chad and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary. It has gone by so fast! We made it simple... dinner and a movie. We are about to go on vacation to Florida with my family and then in June we are going to Washington D.C. for an anniversary/babymoon trip. So, that is our anniversary present to each other. Here are some pics of the evening.

3 Years!!!
He brought home roses for me!!

Baby update: We went to the doctor last Tuesday for my 24 week appointment and everything still looks good. I really don't have anything to compare Cohen to since he is my first, but I feel like he's the most active baby ever! He never stops kicking and punching! Uh Oh.... I hope that doesn't mean anything!

And his name is....

COHEN DAVID LAWSON. It means "beloved priest" in Hebrew. David is Chad's middle name also. Chad and I had been going back and forth on the names and really this is the one we have liked the best for a while, but I was waiting to get the final approval from Chad since he is the picky one. Then on Mother's Day I woke up to a card that said "mom, thanks for letting me kick and punch you in the tummy all the time. you're the best mom! Love, Cohen" So, that was my mother's day gift... his name. (plus a Starbucks gift card, I might add. Cohen already knows how to make his mommy happy!) I enjoyed yesterday knowing that this would be my easiest mother's day ever, at least until the kids are grown and out of the house!
Update... right now he is about 11 1/2 inches long and weighs a little over a pound.

Belly Button...

Ok, I've been accused for not posting more often. But really there's not a lot to write about! We still don't have a name, but I think we are getting really close to deciding. I'll let ya'll know as soon as we make a decision. I am feeling him move all the time now. I have this new trick... when I start singing he calms down and quits kicking! So, I think while he's in my tummy I'm going to sing this same song every time I want him to calm down, and maybe when I sing that same song once he gets here it will work then too! I'll let you know how that theory holds up. Oh yeah, about the belly button. It popped out this last week. Belly buttons are wierd aren't they?

Here are some pics of me and some of my college friends. We had Macy's baby shower at my house this weekend. She is about nine weeks ahead of me and is due on July 5th.

Me and Macy...
This is Julie on the left. She's 30 weeks pregnant with twins....

Some of the girls... plus babies!

The hostesses with the mostesses!!
