Well, it's getting a little easier everyday. He slept for 4 1/2 straight hours last night before he woke up, so today is a good day! The breastfeeding is also going good now. Those first ten days or so were brutal, but now I'm so glad I stuck with it. Here are some pics from his 2nd and 3rd week of life.
Here he is in his air jordan outfit.
This is one of his favorite new gadgets! I get a lot more done when I have my hands free. Since I am home by myself during the day, the only way I could get a picture was to take it through the mirror. His skinny legs crack me up. He obviously got those from his daddy, not his mommy.

We're making it!
My mom went home on Saturday so today was my first day at home alone with Cohen. The only thing I had on our "to do" list today was to start getting him on his 3 hour schedule. He did pretty good for the first day... we'll see how he sleeps tonight. The hardest thing is trying to keep him awake so that he can get his days and nights straight. It's amazing how fast your day goes by when it revolves around eating, sleeping and pooping! I'm trying really hard to get this schedule down because I'm going to start working again next week. Even though I office from home and don't have to get dressed and drive to work, I still have to get things done from here. Hopefully Cohen will cooperate. Oh by the way, why didn't anyone tell me that you can love someone this much? I know part of it is my hormones, but I'm brought to tears almost everyday just because I feel overwhelmed with how much I love him and Chad both. I wasn't prepared for how much I would love my son, but I've also been surprised by this new level of loving my husband. I thought I couldn't love him anymore than I already did, but I was wrong. There is a newness that I wasn't expecting and it's wonderful! Ok, enough of the mushy stuff. Here are a few pics for you guys...
We watched our first Cowboys game together as a family last night. Cohen says, "GO COWBOYS!!"

38 weeks and a Mother's Instinct
So.... yesterday was "interesting." Let's start by saying that I got a phone call from my mom yesterday morning and she said, "I had a dream last night that you had high blood pressure, are you ok?" At that point I thought everything was fine, but it turns out it wasn't. I had nausea all day and then when I went in for my 4:30 appt. I had high blood pressure. The doctor was a little worried because I haven't had anything close to even being marginal this whole pregnancy. So, the doctor sent me over to the hospital saying, "if it stays high, we will probably induce you tonight." That was a little nerve racking. Not exactly how I imagined everything going down. And on top of all that I was replaying my mom's phone call in my head thinking, "how did she know this?"
The good news is that my blood pressure went down soon after I got there, but we were still there until about 10:30 last night. I felt so bad for Chad because he had rushed from work just to make it to the appointment at 4:30 and at 10:30 pm, after waking up at 6 am, he was still in his work clothes and hadn't eaten anything. I wasn't able to eat anything while they were running the tests and so he was a nice husband and didn't eat in front of me. I kept saying, "you can just go out in the hall and eat a hamburger." He looked at me like I was stupid.
While I was on the fetal monitor, it was showing that my contractions were anywhere from 3-6 minutes apart. But I explained to the nurse that I have been doing that for about a month now and that is just normal for me, so after they checked me and felt that I was still "barely a 1" they believed me and let me go home.
The doctor wants to see me again on Thursday morning and it looks like he'll probably induce then. Which will actually be a very good day since it's labor day weekend. We'll keep everyone posted via blog...

Update
We went to the doctor yesterday and I am dialated to a one and still 75% effaced. So, basically that did nothing for my sanity because that means I could have him today, or go 3 more weeks! I'm trying to stay busy and honestly it would be good if he held off for just a few more days because there are a few more things that I need to get done at work. That's all for now. We'll keep the blog posted if anything happens.

Week 36!!
So, it is week 36! I can't believe how fast it is going by. I went in for a doctor's appointment today and I am 75% effaced, but not dialating yet. I'll give you guys (or at least all of you who care) another update after my appointment next week.
I had my ACU shower this weekend. It was so fun to be with everyone, even if it was just a couple of hours. So many babies!! I love seeing all our growing families. I can't wait until our 5 year reunion at homecoming in October where we get to do more catching up.
Here is a picture of my hostesses and best friends from college!
Here is one picture of the nursery. I'll post more when I get it finished. I still have more decorating to do. My mom and grandma made all the bedding! Didn't they do a great job!
